We are delighted to announce that Alan Dunbar has joined Mettis Group as Vice-President of Business Development. 

Alan is an experienced, senior aerospace leader with a strong background in the aerospace manufacturing industry. He will play a key role leading strategic business development and marketing as part of our global growth plans, helping us deliver class-leading service to our customers during one of the most challenging times in aviation history.

Alan will also lead the Mettis Accelerate Programme which offers customers who require forged, machined and assembled products, a vertically-integrated solution for fast tracking components into production in as few as six weeks.

In addition, Alan is proud to be an active board member of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, one of the largest aerospace industry clusters in the world. He is also the Chair of the Business Development Working Group. The organisation is at the forefront of efforts to help recover the Midlands aerospace industry in the UK to its position of prosperity and growth.

Phil Thornton, who previously led the Business Development team, is moving into a new role as Vice-President of Supply Chain and Logistics. Phil’s extensive planning experience and deep knowledge of our processes gained over 30 years will help us support our customers with the challenges that continue to be posed by the pandemic. He will also be key to the ongoing success of the Mettis Accelerate Programme as we welcome more customers on board.
