Extensive Onsite Testing Facilities
We have a state-of-the-art laboratory and extensive non-destructive test facilities onsite. This enables us to reduce lead times and resolve issues swiftly. Our rigorous processes ensure we meet our customers’ requirements and deliver to the highest industry standards.
We are proud of our reputation for quality and continue to expand our accreditations and the services we offer.
Nadcap And UKAS Accredited Laboratory (Approval No 8315)
Our laboratory has Nadcap and ISO 17025:2017 approval. Our services cover three primary areas:
- Mechanical testing which explores various physical properties of materials, for example the elastic limits, the maximum load they will endure and toughness (a measure of damage tolerance). Materials are put through tests that are much more demanding than the conditions they would endure in service to ensure they are safe.
- Metallographic material examination which involves the microscopic examination of materials to confirm that manufacturing processes have been successfully completed and our products conform to demanding aerospace specifications and contractual requirements.
- Hydrogen analysis which ensures hydrogen levels are within acceptable levels in titanium alloys that have been forged or machined.
When specific material assessments cannot be completed on site, our laboratory team manages all requirements in partnership with external facilities to provide a seamless service for customers.
Non-Destructive Test Facilities
Onsite non-destructive test capabilities include immersion and contact ultrasonic, fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle inspection, hardness and electrical conductivity testing, supported by NDT Level 3 special process engineers.
Measurement facilities are also used across our site including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), hard point measurement fixtures, light scanning and projection units.
How It Works
We have many ways to test products we have manufactured conform to customer requirements. These range from microstructural analysis using samples taken from components or prolongations through to mechanical property assessment by in-house machine and test of physical properties.
This enables us to satisfy rigorous customer approvals and deliver to some of the highest industry standards in the world.
